DOSIO VIGNETI
Barolo D.O.C.G. Bussia 2017
makes its debut at Vinitaly

Expanding excellence

Vinitaly, April 2022Dosio Vigneti, in the heart of Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage area, presents the Barolo D.O.C.G. Bussia 2017 at Vinitaly, which complements the winery’s already excellent offer that, among the Barolo crus, includes Barolo Fossati and Barolo Serradenari.

BUSSIA is a Cru (MGA) of exceptional level, capable of combining power, elegance and pleasantness. Dosio Vigneti’s vineyard, of about one hectare, is located in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba and is over 25 years old. Positioned on sandstone soil formed by sandy compaction and yellowish white marl, it produced – during the 2017 vintage – around 2.600 bottles of fine Barolo.

This vintage was harvested at the end of October and, once fermentation was complete, the wine was aged for a long time in large 20-hectolitre Slavonian oak casks before being bottled and aged in the cellar until sale.

Organoleptically, it is a wine of great olfactory breadth, ranging from fruity and spicy perceptions, from cherry and currant to red fruit jam accompanied by menthol and liquorice notes. The palate has great balance and excellent structure with never intrusive tannic perception. The elegant and enveloping tannins give a long and pleasant persistence and good vigour.

The recommended pairing is with baked duck breast, rump with mushrooms, the classic braised meat of the Piedmontese tradition to a board of hard mature cheeses.

About Dosio Vigneti

Dosio Vigneti cellars – part of a Group, a 100% Italian reality with Piedmontese roots – was founded in 1974 on a pre-existing farm dating back to the mid-18th century. Completely restructured over the years – particularly after the new ownership took over in 2010 – today this reality boasts around 15 hectares of estate vineyards that guarantee excellent wine production, a wine cellar located centrally to the estate and various areas and spaces dedicated to the presentation and tasting of the wines, with the possibility of enjoying a view that can sweep as far as the summit of Monviso. Here, the excellent position on the  highest point of the hill at about 500m above sea level – with a completely southern exposure – ensures the right ventilation and temperature for the vineyards, guaranteeing a production of remarkable quality. The production philosophy is carried forward by pursuing the founding values of quality and tradition, with an eye to innovation and an unavoidable respect for the territory thanks to production and cultivation methods aimed at reducing the impact on the environment as much as possible. www.dosiovigneti.com
