The high hill barolo

If we could summarize this wine in a single word, we would not hesitate to define it “high”: not only because it is the King of Wines but especially because we are facing the highest Barolo of the entire appellation.
A place of symbolic value for us – as the cradle of our winery since 1974, the year of its foundation – the MGA Serradenari extends to the outskirts of the historic village of La Morra at an altitude of 500 meters: here, along a sunny southwest-facing slope surrounded by pristine nature, you will find Dosio Serradenari vineyard: : a unique vineyard that encompasses the entire estate with the Alps in the background.
In this extraordinary place, characterized by significant day-night temperature variations and lower temperatures compared to the average, the Nebbiolo vines grow slowly, and the grapes have a late ripening. From this insight and, at the same time, risk, the Barolo Serradenari Dosio was born.
If investing in a vineyard with such altitude could have been a risk for a grape like Nebbiolo in the early 2000s, time has proven us right, and since that distant 2003 – the year we launched the first vintage – our Serradenari continues to be a wine that embodies our values, our history, our roots, while also narrating the kaleidoscopic terroir of La Morra from which it originates.
